Hot pins and needles all over body?! - December 2nd 2009, 06:33 PM

I was wondering if anyone else got these. It feels like i'm getting a million hot pins stabbed into my skin...all over my body. It's always when I get hot or move from cold to hot. It hurts SO much and just makes me want to scratch my skin off! So, does anyone else get these or is it just me? It's becoming more frequent recently and i've got no idea why. I've tried google but i've had no luck with this.

Heat rash? But that usually occurs during summer. If this continues, then you should really go to see your doctor. I'm sure it's nothing serious but it's better to be safe than sorry.

Nah it's not a heat rash. It's literally just the feeling of hot pins

That happens if not enough blood gets to my feet, arms or hands. But not all over my body Sounds kinda painful!

Nah, it's completely different to pins and needles when there isn't enough blood. It's more painful and just literally feel like i'm being poked with loads of hot pins. Apparently it can be due to Menopause oooooor Urticaria. But to my knowledge, i've got neither

I think I've heard of something like that (and experienced it) from having too little of a certain vitamin or something in my system. I'll check around and edit this post if I remember what it was.
I found you a list!

This is true. It just drives me mad when I get it because I can't get comfy nor can I get rid of it!

If it's a persistent problem you should go into your doctor or a walk-in clinic.
You might just need some sort of vitamin supplement to get rid of it, or it may be a sign of something else.
My dad had a similar issue that was localized to his left shoulder and arm that was caused by the discs of his spine putting pressure on one of his nerves or something like that. He now gets regular massage therapy and physiotherapy to keep it from being a problem.
