What is your sleeping pattern? - December 25th 2009, 01:05 PM

I have been working on changing my sleeping habits to go to bed at 10 and wake up at 6. It is starting to work, I went to sleep at 10 last night but i am not ready to set my alarm. I will if i can maintain my 10pm bedtime 3 nights in a row though. My goal is to feel more alert and have a greater ability to concentrate during the day.

How is it for you?

Re: What is your sleeping pattern? - December 25th 2009, 04:12 PM

Hey there,
It's good that you're starting to get your body into a pattern. I really don't have a regular sleeping pattern, as I go to bed and wake up at different times. After the holidays are over, i'm going to try setting times so that my body will get into a healthy sleep pattern and i'll feel more awake.

Ps. I just moved your thread from Good Days to the General Health Forum just because I though it fit better here. Mods feel free to move it if you don't think it goes here. Thanks. :]

Re: What is your sleeping pattern? - December 25th 2009, 04:41 PM

I don't really have a set sleeping schedule. On weeknights, I go to sleep between ten and eleven at night and wake up around seven am. On weekends/holidays/summer, I go to sleep anywhere between 12am-4am, and sometimes not at all. Depending on when I went to sleep, I wake up any time between 7am-2pm.

My sleeping schedule is weird.
It depends on my mood and how I feel.
For school I got to bed around eleven and get up at six.
Weekends, breaks, or summer. I got to bed at like six and the morning and sleep all day. =P

I really need to sort mine out. Since it's the Christmas holidays so far it has been 1-2am - 11am-12pm.

My sleeping pattern is crap! On weeknights i aim to go to bed around 10 buuut that never happens and i always stay up til 11.30. On weekends/holidays etc i'll go to bed whenever i feel like it tbh.

I don't know if it's just me buuuut the more sleep i get, the more sleepy i feel. The other night i went to bed at 8.30pm and woke up around 10.30am the next day and i felt EXHAUSTED!

my sleeping pattern is ridiculous. i'm usually up all night and sleep in the day. like take now for example its like 7am and i haven't bee to sleep yet.. i'll probably sleep for a few hours early morning ish then wake up for lunch and i won't be able to get back to sleep.. i don't sleep a lot, at all. i get by on a few hours here and there quite happily. idk, i'm weird.

I have a steady sleeping pattern so long as those who get up fairly early in my house aren't too loud! I usually sleep for 7 to 8 hours every night, with some exceptions.

Try to avoid any caffeine 6 hours before you go to bed, so, no cola, coffee, etc etc. Exercise in the morning can also help with your concentration and alertness throughout the day.

Re: What is your sleeping pattern? - December 28th 2009, 02:16 AM

It all depends if I'm in night shift mode, or day mode. If I'm in day shift mode, I will go to bed anywhere from 10:30pm-1am, and be up for 7:30am. If I'm in night shift mode I will be up til 2am and sleep til 10.

So it really depends what I work.

And I will take you in my arms, and hold you right where you belong.

Re: What is your sleeping pattern? - December 28th 2009, 02:43 AM

Ideally, I want to be awake until midnight and wake up at 8am, or be awake until 2 and wake up at 10. I like to sleep, but I don't like to sleep more on weekends because I don't sleep enough during the week.

Re: What is your sleeping pattern? - December 28th 2009, 03:58 AM

During the summer and over breaks (like this one), I start out by going to bed around two and waking up around noon but my bedtime becomes later and later as time passes and I end up going to bed at 11am and sleeping until dinner haha.

When I'm at school, I usually go to bed around 4, wake up around 7:30 and sleep a lot during the day. If I don't have time, sometimes I'll just pull a bunch of all nighters and sleep over 16 hours on the weekends.

I like your plan much better than my current arrangement, I should follow your lead!

When I'm at school, I'll try to go to bed before 11-12 and wake up at 7am. During holidays, I don't have a set time I go bed or wake up at.

For me... a sleeping pattern is nonexistent. I go to bed when I feel tired, I wake up when I don't. I don't really have any certain time that I go to bed anymore. Apparently that's unhealthy, but I don't really care much.
