You have to remember that these things take time, losing weight isn't an overnight kind of thing.
You also have to take into account that when you lose fat you're putting on muscle, and muscle weighs more than fat. While you might not see huge changes in terms of what you weigh, you should start to feel better once the changes become more significant.

Re: Weight loss - January 3rd 2010, 03:00 AM

I've been going to the gym 4 to 6 days for a week for 6 months straight now, with little gains after an initial loss.
Depending on how long you've been training, your weight may not be changing as you build muscle, which weights more than fat. The best way to tell if you're making any losses in weight/gains in muscle, is to measure yourself. Best to measure your biceps, midway between your deltoids and elbow as that's where you first burn fat from, thus reducing their size. It's also worth measuring your waist, basically around your belly-button, no higher, no lower.
Also, only weigh yourself once every 3-4 weeks, and do it at the same time of day as well. Best to weigh yourself in the morning just after you wake up as it will give the most accurate result. If you weighed yourself at midday, your weight would vary more as you are likely to have drunk more or less on those days, which contributes to weight. In the morning your water weight is low and is unlikely to vary as much.

Hey, if you gain weight, maybe it's muscle gain? That's always good

And losing too much weight within a short time can really take a toll on your body's organs and other systems. It's happened.

But good luck

I would imagine that you are in the gym trying to lose weight and not trying to build crazy amounts of muscle because that won’t necessarily cut back the fat on your body, you need to do cardio work outs and light weight muscle work outs.

Often times people think they can just work out (Cardio ect.) and lose tons of weight where it’s extremely important to watch what you eat, this is the biggest factor I feel. You mentioned you don’t feel like your losing weight – possibly not yet although your body is becoming healthier by the moment so keep up the good what and I’m willing to bet this time next year you’ll be extremely fit.

Try measuring yourself with a measuring tape instead of weighing yourself.
