So my hair has been falling out. When I have a bath, or comb it, quite a bit comes out with out me even pulling it hard! Does anyone know what it could be? When I struggled with eating, it fell out then, but I've been a lot better since. I eat more than what I used to, so I don't know what it could be..
Any ideas? Thanks, Laura_xx SH Free since: 22/12/09 ![]() |

stress is a common cause of hair loss, so perhaps this is your issue? other causes include hormone imbalance, thyroid problems and certain medications. if you're worried then maybe you should bring this up with your doctor?..

Hey,
I have this problem, do you by any chance have curly hair... if so it could just be a result of brushing your hair too vigerously. If you think the amount of hair you are loosing is concerning then you really should head to your GP and they will be able to help you properly with this, seeing as none of us are trained professionals. |

Heyy
![]() I have the same problem. According to my hairdresser it's a sign that your hair's healthy 'cause it keeps growing new hair and getting rid of the dead ends and such. But if you're really worried perhaps going to your doctors would be a good idea. x I'm medicated, how are you? "Nothing's perfect but it has to be someday..." -Craig Owens |

Well it could be healthy, but you know yourself better than anybody else. Is it unusual? If so, check your eating habits/stress levels and if continues to happen maybe choose to go check it out with a doctor?

I have straight/wavy hair but its very thick! I'm gentle with it - don't want to go ripping it out. Its only started to happen recently though. I've not got any bald patches or anything like that, but a lot does come out.
thanks for the advice anyways ![]() Laura_xx SH Free since: 22/12/09 ![]() |

if you've got very thick hair when more of it is likely to fall out, also a lot can fall out without it being noticeable at all really, so i wouldn't worry too much about it unless you're having other symptoms, also.

I have waist-length thick, straight/wavy hair. Most days when I wash it I lose about 30-50 strands. This is normal. It's just the really old hair moulting.
If you're really concerned, see a Trichologist. Hair loss can be caused by stress or your birth control as well. |

As long as it's not falling out in HUGE patches
for thick hair I am sure it's pretty normal. Don't get to worked up about it, I somehow doubt you'll go bald Good luck, If your still unsure get it checked out! ![]() "Aww How Sweet!" |

I nearly clog up the drain each time I shower because my hair is so thick. A lot of my friends do as well. I'm sure there's nothing wrong. It's probably just the thickness.
Waitin' for my ruca.
