Seriously, I'm always tired. - January 7th 2010, 01:15 AM

From the moment I wake up to the time I go to sleep I feel exhausted. The only time I'm not is after a few energy drinks or exercise, but I can't constantly chug energy drinks or run all day, so I just live with it, which is hard. I can't concentrate on anything at all, so I'm falling behind in school. All I do is lay around with headaches and I hate it because I'm always so tired, yet I can't sleep anymore because I've already slept 8 hours. How the heck do I get more energy?

Hey Courtney,

Sometimes, what we eat and how much exercise we get can affect our energy level. Aim to get atleast thirty minutes of exercise each day, and make sure you're getting plenty of protien and B-vitamins in your diet. It may help for you to take a multi-vitamin, as well.

Remember, if you drink energy drinks too often, this can have a "rebound" effect, and make you even more tired than before the drink. Try to limit your caffeine intake, as this will help your body have more energy naturally.

Take care!

It could be a sign of anemia - which is basically not enough iron in the blood. You get iron from certain foods you eat, and if you're constantly running as you say, then you may not have enough iron. Have a ceck up with your doctor

This advise is 100% correct eating right is a big factor. Also Do Not drink those energy drinks they are horrible for you!

Once last thing - Do you eat breakfast in the morning? If not start eating something hearty and healthy.

Good Luck

I don't drink energy drinks anymore, unless I have something extremely important to do like study for an exam. Even then, it's only every few months.

I'm actually not sure if I'm eating enough. It might be the problem. Sadly, I'm obsessed with calorie counting, and I eat about 1300 a day, unless I end up binging. But I work out a lot. I run 4 miles every other day and I'm working up. I've read on running sites that I should be eating around 1800, but it just feels like way too much.
