There has to be something wrong with me. -
January 8th 2010, 03:00 PM
It isn't normal to feel this way :| Everyone keeps calling me lazy but I know there is more to it than that. I get tired a LOT. If I wake up like a normal person at 7am and go to college all day I will feel like complete and utter crap the next morning. I feel dizzy, unwell and just horrible. I find it stupidly hard to get out of bed, I feel like if I do I may collapse. I'm missing so much college because of this, I'm really really behind. I also find it hard to get to sleep in the nights, so that really doesn't help.
I remember once in year 9 I forced myself to go to school everyday for two weeks, I was close to fainting. I couldn't deal with it at all. I'm not lazy and I really wish my family/friends would stop calling me it because I can't handle doing things like this >_____< I've been to my doctor before about it, he checked if I was anemic but he doesn't think I am. I just want to figure out what's wrong with me. I sleep about 12-13 hours too, I don't think that's normal either. ![]() |

Have you tried sleeping pills to help you get a better, deeper sleep? Do you dream much when you sleep? Did the doctor give you any medication or suggest what else it might be? You may want to ask the doctor about any alternative treatments you can try. Have you been diagnosed with depression?
Too much sleep can also make you feel tired, it's just as dangerous as not getting enough sleep. The most common symptoms of sleeping too long include:
You should be sleeping for around 7.5 to 8 hours each night. I suggest you approach your doctor and ask if it could be this, he/she may have missed it before so it's best to bring it up. I hope this helps, take care! What doesn't kill you makes you stronger and wiser, that in itself, is worth the fight. The best way to predict the future is to create it - Peter F. My doctor prescribed me sleeping pills a week before Christmas, they only lasted a week. They worked really well to send me off to sleep, but I was still tired in the mornings. Never been diagnosed with depression but it wouldn't really shock me.

I always find that if i sleep for a longer period of time, i feel extra tired. So try to keep to a regular sleeping pattern. I've always felt really exhausted and drained for as long as i can remember and my blood work would always come back negative up until recently, where they found i was anemic with folate deficiency and iron deficiency. I guess sometimes it doesn't always show up in the blood so make as many appointments as possible for extra tests, check blood pressure as well and get the normal routine check ups. Tiredness can result from many things but typically it is diet-related so keep a diary of what you eat on a day to day basis. It could also be the result of underlying medical conditions such as a thyroid disorder, so make sure when you get a blood test - have the doctor check for as many things as possible, yes it requires more samples taken from your arm but it's personally worth it.
I know how it feels to feel tired after a day at college, i personally feel super exhausted by period 5 and cannot keep my eyes open to the point my teachers keep telling me off for yawning. So i really know how you feel, it's not nice at all <3 Hope things get sorted soon. x & it's just like she's in another world. [<3] |
