This thread has been labeled as triggering, particularly on the subject of self harm, by the original poster or by a Moderator. The contents of this thread might therefore not be suitable for certain sensitive users. Please take this into consideration before continuing to read.

I've recently had a relapse in my self-harm habits, and there is one wound that is particularly worrying me.

It's not that deep, and isn't wide at all. The scab is yellowish, but that doesn't really worry me...what worries me is that the muscle around that area is sore, and the area is swollen by a fair bit.

Should I just try some ice and neosporin? Is there anything else I can do?

"For the first time
in a long time,
I can say that I wanna try.
I feel helpless for the most part,
but I'm learning to open my eyes.
And the sad truth of the matter is,
I'll never get over it,
but I'm gonna try
to get better and overcome each moment
in my own way"

The best thing to do is to make sure it is clean and put some ice and neosporin on it. If the swelling doesn't go down within a day or two, or it gets worse, you should see a doctor about it as it could be an infection and quite serious.

Hopefully it's nothing serious, just keep an eye on it and be careful. PM me if you have any other questions.

I agree with Cody Ice the wound keep it very clean, put neosporin on it during the day with a band-aid over it but leave it uncovered at night, if it gets even 1% worse see your doctor asap as it could be an infection, you could get quiet sick if you do have an infection and not do anything about it. i had a deep cut on my leg (it was an accident though) and i went and saw my doctor because it wasnt healing, my doctor told me i shouldve gotten stitches. i'm lucky i didnt get an infection. PM me if you have any questions or need anything dear.
