how is it possible to menstruate for more than a month straight? - January 29th 2010, 07:43 AM

Iīve been bleeding for more than a month now. One doctor said it should stop after a few weeks (that was a few weeks ago), and another doctor gave me medication that was supposed to stop the bleeding within 5 days (that was a week ago). The blood started clumping but itīs still bleeding. I had or have an infection in my uterus, tubes, and ovaries. I go back to the doctor on the 9th to see if the infection is gone or not. Can an infection cause bleeding though? I donīt understand. I also had 2 biopsies, one to check for HPV and the other to figure out what strains I have. I donīt get the results until the 18th. Can that make you bleed (more than a little) though? Gaah I feel so stupid and I canīt talk to the doctor because Iīm in a country where I donīt speak the language fluently and itīs difficult for my husband to translate medical lingo.

Im sorry your going through all that must be extra difficult not quite understanding what the doctor is saying.

I really dont have an answer and I think the only people that would are doctors... so I just wanted ot suggest them writing it down for you?

Ask all the questions you want and get them to write the answers (even in another language) and then when you get home try looking for translations, even medical translations and descriptions to find out more?
Maybe ask your husband to write these down and help you find translations?

Or try to find a doctor who is more fluent in English to give you an explanation?

hey i think you should go to another country where they speak your language. this is definitely not normal and you need to take responsibility over your health by getting the right help you need ( and understand)..

My friend had brownish bleeding for two weeks and her doctors said it was an infection. Drink lots of cranberry juice because that can really help with bladder infections, don't use any kinds of soaps or anything down there that may irritate it, try not to wipe too much after going to the bathroom, always wipe from front to back, and if you use a public toilet I just tend to pee OVER it instead of sit on them because they're full of germs and filthy.
Just some tips to prevent yourself from getting one again, and I'm sure it'll clear up soon. I know how unpleasant they are, they're irritating also.
