Lumps? - February 3rd 2010, 10:49 AM

I'm an 18 year old girl, and I think I've found a couple of lumps in my left breast. I know I'm too young for breast cancer so I was just curious if anyone had any ideas on what else they could be? I'm not particuarily worried, because like I said, too young for breast cancer, but I just have no clue what they could be. I'd go to the doctor, but the idea of my doctor seeing my breasts kinda freaks me out.

Hey Rachel, some girls and women just have "lumpy breasts" and it's probably nothing to worry about. Keep an eye on them and if they change or the skin changes around them have them checked out.

Just as a side note, and not to scare you, but you aren't too young to have breast cancer. While it is possible to have it before age 25-30 that is EXTREMELY RARE. I didn't say this to scare you, but I didn't want you to think that it was impossible.

Oh wow, I really thought there was no possibility of having it at my age, but thanks for letting me know there was a small chance someone my age could get it, but don't worry, I'm not freaking out about it. I'll do what you said, and keep an eye on them, hopefully they won't change because like I said, my doctor seeing them is a bit scary.

you're not too young for breast cancer.. anyone with breasts can get breast cancer.. i know a girl of 15 who had breast cancer. if you have lumps in your breast get it checked out.. even though it's extremely unlikely it's best to be overly cautious.

Even men can get breast cancer. Go to your doctor.

Otherwise, it could be a lipoma. A fatty lump under the skin (Even skinny people can have these). They are not harmful in any way and not cancerous or anything...They're just. There, and tend to go away in time.
