Question skin changes.. - February 3rd 2010, 06:36 PM

I've always had dry skin, even on my face, even in the middle of puberty. If i went camping or something, and had to go without a shower for several days, my face didn't feel oily at all. But randomly for the past few weeks my skin feels super oily within a couple hours of showering and washing my face. AND I have worse acne right now (age 20) than I EVER had in high school.

Can someone tell me WTF is going on? And no, it's not stress or a change of soap.

Thanks guys

PM me any time, ok? I'm always here to help.

I don't know too much about it but it might not hurt to see a dermatologist (sp?)
They specialize in this stuff. Acne is a medical issue and a lot of times there are great treatments for it. Everyone's skin is different. I know that my sister didn't break out until she hit her 20's either. She started using stuff like proactive and Skin ID and they helped restore her skin...
Sorry I couldn't be of much help.
Take care.

I think that everyone's skin is different. We think that the normal time to start breaking out is during our teenage years, but I think it could be likely that everyone has their different "break out stages," so to speak. Along with washing your face regularly (and all that other jazz) I agree that you might want to visit a dermatologist, since they'll be able to give you the best feedback. Good luck!

Same here.

Trust me. Buy a bar of glycerin soap. If you can find it, try Pears. You might be able to find it at the dollar store like I do. It's the best thing for oily skin and keeps the oil from reoccuring way better than other products. Out of all the products I've used, clear soap is the BEST.
