Dry Skin? - February 6th 2010, 02:01 PM

I have dry flakey skin on my face: forehead, nose and cheeks. It's not as bad as it sounds, and only noticable when you get up close. But you can tell a bit more when wearing make up. What could be used to fix this? An exfoliating face wash?

Hey Tayla Jay,

Your body could be dehydrated. Drink lots of water. Also, is this normal for your skin or is this something new? You could just have dry skin. Everyone's skin is different.

I recommend drinking your 8 cups of water a day and using some lotion where your dry spots are. Make sure the lotion is not cented. Use something like Olay. I know they have lotion just for your face. Anyhting that says moisturizer is good. Try not to use too too much though because then your face could get oily. Isn't it great being a girl! :P

Take care and good luck.

Hey,

I used to have this problem too - certainly around my nose. I use a cleansing cream, to wash my face with then moisturise in the mornings or when I'm going out in severe weather.

:]

Thats right.
I got away with it all and I'm still alive.

If it's itchy then you would want to avoid irritating it further. Use products with little to no harsh ingredients in them, so avoid anything with alcohol. If you're wanting to use a moisturiser - go for an aloe vera type which is 100% natural. The downside of this is that it can be really greasy so apply in minimal amounts. If this doesn't work then you should try vaseline or aqueous cream.

Cleanse, tone and moisturise. If your skin is dry, then moisturise. Any moisturiser will do but you can get some specialised face moisturiser. Or even tinted moisturiser instead of foundation.
