Sort of Blacking Out...I think? Help. - February 8th 2010, 12:04 AM

So on an almost daily basis I get this thing where my vision gets blurred, all I see is this blur of colours I guess, that's the only way I can explain it, then my legs get weak. It only lasts for about 5 seconds but it's been going on for so long. When it first happened I thought it was a bad reaction to my allergy medicine and when I got off it it stopped for a bit. Now it's happening again and I'm not taking any kind of medicine or anything new at all.

Anyone know what this is, had it happened to anyone?

Make sure you are eating healthy. Poor diets can cause blurriness.

Hey There.

I would really advise seeing a doctor! Although blurriness and blackouts can be caused by simple things like diets and lifestyle - they can also be caused my much more serious conditions.

Obviously blackouts and blurriness can be caused by medical conditions - so could these have been caused by whatever you were/are taking medicine for?

Also be sure to check out this http://www.patient.co.uk/doctor/Blackouts.htm

If these carry on though do make sure you see your local GP just to be on the safe side.

Regardless of why it's happening, I agree...you should see your doctor.

Hopefully it's nothing serious. I used to have blackouts more frequently as I was getting used to my antidepressants.

Anemia or low blood pressure can also lead to blackouts/dizziness/weakness. Things like this can often be dealt with through diet. But a doctor has to confirm where the problem is coming from first!
