What in the world is wrong with me? -
March 17th 2010, 10:00 PM
Okay so I have made a lot of threads lately but, I'm quite concerned about this:
I've been eating EVERYTHING in sight. I'm always hungry and that is not like me, at all. I'm overweight but, I don't even normally eat 3 meals a day. I'm eating sooooo much! Also, all I want to do is sleep. I have no energy. I litterally slept 14 hours last night. I don't know whats wrong with me. I've never felt this sluggish. I recently stopped taking my anitdepressents. Could they be causing this? I feel disgusting. Ugh. Should I talk to a Dr about it? Sorry guys, Thanks. Oh, and I forgot. I also haven't had my period in almost 3 months. There is no chance I'm pregnant. |

Hey Lacy!
There are many reasons why this could happen. There may be a chance that it's because of you discontinuing your medication, it may be a health problem, it may be because of your weight, maybe it has to do with anxiety you may be feeling, there are so many possibilities. As you well certainly know we really can't diagnose you so the best suggestion we can really give you is to go and talk to a doctor about this. It's important that you do talk to a doctor, because it's your body we are talking about, and you have to take care of yourself no matter what, and this sounds like a serious problem. So go check it out and talk with a doctor. ![]() I hope this helped. Take care of yourself Lacy.

Thanks guys.
I know I need to see my doctor. I just wanted to know if other people thought it was really an issue, ya know? Like, if I was over reacting or not. So thanks

Always being hungry is not a good sign. I mean, unless you have a high metabolism, then it's quite unusual to always feel hungry. It could indicate some sort of parasitic infection, but it could be anything and you really need to see your doctor right away, especially as you're feeling sluggish too. Not good combos.
Feel better soon, take care love. x & it's just like she's in another world. [<3] |

Hey there Lacey,
There could be many different reasons for you to be more hungry than usual, such as an infection, your mood state or the fact that you've stopped your medication. Especially because you're sleeping a lot and feeling more fatigued than usual, I do think that it would be worth talking to your doctor about how you are feeling - I'd also think it would be important to tell them that you have been missing your period for a while. In the meantime, try to keep a routine with your sleeping and make sure that you are eating a balanced diet of three meals a day (perhaps have some healthy snacks, such as fruit inbetween, if you require it). Take care of yourself. |

There could be an underlying physiological problem but stopping the anti-depressants can cause these symptoms so it confounds it and makes it more likely to be due to the meds.

The same thing happened to me just a few months ago. I was in a really stressful relationship and I was overeating, sleeping constantly, and missing my period. Over eating and sleeping are symptoms of depression, so i went to the doctor and It ended up being hormonal and I was considered mildly depressed, so I guess it could be that. But you should still go to a doctor
