Help - March 21st 2010, 05:13 AM

About 30 minutes ago I pulled myself out of the bath because I wanted to change the radio. As soon as I was out I felt funny and dizzy. I went to get a towel off the floor, and then felt worse. Then I went to open the window to get some hair in because there was a lot of steam and it was quite hot.. I lost all use of my left arm, and my right too I think. I struggled for about 5 seconds, then collapsed on the floor.

I was concious during all of this but I felt like i was going in and out of it. I was on the floor for about ten minutes just letting the breeze from the window cool me down again, and slowly started moving my fingers, hands, arms. My pulse was really really loud in my head and it felt like my entire body was throbbing like mad.

I felt after a while that I would be fine to get back in the bath but when I stood up again I knew I wasn't. I've managed to get upstairs. But I am sweating but feeling cold inside. It feels like my skin is...fuzzy and warm. My head is still thumping but not as bad and I feel like Im shaking although I'm unsure if I am or not. I had a drink or two a few hours ago but do not and did not feel drunk at all. Which is kinda normal for me.

I just took some of my asthma medicine, and I've been prone to panic attacks before which is what this feels like. I'm trying to stay very calm in fear of triggering one.
Please don't tell me to call an ambulance unless you can proove to me this is an urgent thing. I'm slowly feeling a bit better every minute. But I'm still very scared.

Please help.

I am feeling a bit better now but very tired suddenly. Like I've just been hit with a wave of it. Still overly hot and my arms still feel funny, and still a bit shakey too. But much better than before. I would still like to hear opinions on what just happened though.

Well i wont say call an ambulance, but you could call some sort of health helpline. We have one here and it just lets you talk to a doctorand you can tell her your symptoms and she can recommend what you do. I really think you need to call a doctor or something because that really seem abnormal and very dangerous. I am no medical professional so I cannot say what you have had but it could cause you to have an attack of some sort. You really need to get help, if its not an ambulance just call a doctor to check. She/he may even come and see you at your house to help.

Hey there Hannah,

I think that it would be a really good idea to try and talk to a doctor or a medical professional about how you've been feeling and about what happened. There are several reasons as to why you felt unstable during the time where you got out of the bath. It could be to do with your panic attacks, your blood pressure or even just the change in temperature from getting out of the bath if it was overly hot.
I'd recommend that you talk to your doctor as soon as you can or book an appointment.

Take care.
