Random Throbbing Arm Pain? - April 7th 2010, 07:23 AM

Since maybe twelve hours ago, I've had a mild to moderate throbbing pain in my arm. Upper arm, along the back/underside of it, form my elbow to my shoulder. It's strong for a few minutes, then fades to a mild discomfort for a bit, then comes back. At it's worst I was getting almost a stabbing tingly pain in the muscle, up through my shoulder and on the left side of my chest [though that didn't last long.] When the pain is mild, it almost feels like it does when you hit your elbow a certain way [funnybone] and it's an awkward pain.. but that goes away eventually.

Anybody experience this or know what it might be? A quick google search gave me something like risk for heart attack so I think I'm searching the wrong thing o__o;

I am not quite sure what that would be but i do think you should tell an adult. I think a doctor should take a look at it. Any pain or throbbing is not good at all! Good Luck!

have you done any activities in the past couple of days such as bowling, or labor work which may have tweeked some muscles. You can bruise or damage muscles doing work and symptoms may not present for a few days until a trigger causes it to present. For now treat it as any common muscle strain and take care.

Nope, definitely haven't done anything labour intensive lately haha. This randomly happened when I was laying down, maybe I moved a certain way or hit something out of place? I went to bed and it ended up stopping.. but I'm still wondering why it happened >__<;

You could have just as easily slept on it wrong. Alot of people move around in their sleep and that may have led to an awkward position and therefore a strain.
