Sleep is not Happening - April 17th 2010, 06:17 AM

So, this is tech week. I've probably gotten 12 hours of sleep in the last 4 days. Theatre can be such a pain... But no matter what, I've never had consistent trouble sleeping, which right now the only reason I can think of would be tech week. I used to have some form of insomnia, where I just couldn't sleep so I'd sit up and wait for sleep to hit. That was how the past 3 nights have been, but not anymore.
It's currently about 2:15am. I don't know when I'm going to end up being woken up (that is if I ever sleep) later, but I'm getting scared that I won't be getting much sleep again no matter how much I need it. I'm at my best friend's house. He's fast asleep and I'm just trying hard to sleep. However, every time I lay down, trying to get to sleep, I flip out and I feel like I'm waking up from a terrifying nightmare and am shaking like heck. It's terrifying. I can't stand it.
I calmed myself down enough to write a note for my friend and I'm somehow still calm(ish), at least it's enough to let me type this up. The way I calmed myself down was to lay on my friend's bed on my back and lift my legs so that I could just go crazy punching my legs, much harder than I normally punch. It's not good that this is what I have to do.
I can't handle this anymore. I need to sleep. I need to be able to rest now. However, that seems so impossible and I don't know what to do about it anymore. Any advice?

Hey hun,

You sound like you are having some sort of panic along with sleep troubles.
For tonight, listen to soft music and focus on breathing evenly.
You need to make a doctor's appointment as soon as possible and tell your doctor about this. I'm sure your doctor has medications and things available for you.
