Somewhat strange... - April 27th 2010, 10:21 PM

Hey all!
I'm assuming this is Non-PG 13, but correct me if I'm wrong. :]

So lately I've been getting some bad pelvic pain, going from my abdomen and even lower, if you know what I mean. The pain is very sharp (as if someone is in there with a knife) and lingers for hours. Although sometimes its just quick jolt that cripples me for a second. The lingering pain is hard to walk with, and it usually feels a little better when I'm sitting down.

At first I thought it was some sort of unusual period pain (this went on for weeks beforehand, gradually) and when I got my period it stopped, but now it's back even days after my period has ended.

It's usually worse after I eat; I went to the mall after dinner a few nights ago but had to leave because the pain was so bad.

I'm gay, so I haven't had intercourse with any guys, and the last sexually-related activities I engaged in with a girl didn't involve oral, just digital. (And was 8 months ago) The only time I did engage in oral was a good four years ago. So that rules out STDs.

I've gotten this pain from years before, but it happened very very very rarely, and it was very brief. I had even nicknamed them "crotch cramps"
But this time it happens everyday without fail and is much more painful.

I haven't told anyone and I'm getting kind of worried so any suggestions/advice would be very appreciated!

Thanks for your time! <3

If you're having sharp, severe pains on a regular basis, I recommend a visit to your doctor. It's probably nothing serious, but since it's continued on for so long, you really should get a professional opinion.

Yeah, I've been [stupidly] avoiding that. It's quite embarrassing :/

Would I go to an OBGYN or just my regular doctor?

Well, I thought about that, and since you said it's both in the genital area and the lower abdomen, I would think an OB-GYN would be the most appropriate.

Alright, thank you. I'm really hoping it's nothing serious.
