Wisdom Teeth Pain -
May 7th 2010, 06:57 PM
I feel stupid for asking, but forgive my ignorance :)
I haven't gotten my wisdom teeth pulled yet, but I know the last time I went to the dentist he told me that they were close to coming in. I'm pretty sure they are now, because they hurt like a bitch sometime-- I feel like a teething baby and no matter what I chew on, it doesn't help. I never heard anyone else complain about it, but this is normal right? I'm terrified of the dentist, so I keep putting it off... but, mine have been slooowly coming in for ages. It's been a long painful process. The pain will go away for a few weeks, even a month, and then it starts again. Your best getting them taken out, especially if you don't have the room for them in there.

Yeah they are painful when coming through and everyone experiences it. You said you are like a teething baby but that is exactly what it is, it is the same thing.
You may not need to have them taken out, some people do if there isn't enough room or if they are not coming through straight or if the come through decayed. It may feel like there is no room but your jaw and teeth adjust around the growing teeth, that is what part of the pain is. If they are coming through correctly then they can be left, it will be painful as they come through but it will be painful getting them removed too. I wouldn't suggest getting them removed if it is not needed or recommended by your dentist. |
