Chest infection : / - June 24th 2010, 11:06 AM

I just got back from the docs, and she said i might have the beginnings of a chest infection. She gave me antibiotics, said I shouldn't go to work until monday, and then she said I couldn't smoke for a week... Why is that? I know I'm having trouble breathing and smoking is just going to make it worse... But will it actually make he infection worse? I really need a fag guys... Is it going to slow down the process of getting better?

Presumably it'll further damage and irritate the already sensitive and infected lungs. Just suck it up and don't smoke.

Don't smoke. Just don't do it. I'm asthmatic and when I get attacks I want a fag sometimes...just don't do it. Its not worth the choking spree.

Try nicotine patches, or a nicorette inhaler for the week.

Good luck dude.

Well smoking causes a number of illnesses, one of the most common being 'smokers cough' which can lead to bronchitis and so of course smoking would not benefit you in any way and will quite possibly make it worse.
