Question Is This Serious? (suicide/SH trigger also) - July 15th 2010, 06:40 AM

This thread has been labeled as triggering, particularly on the subject of substance use, by the original poster or by a Moderator. The contents of this thread might therefore not be suitable for certain sensitive users. Please take this into consideration before continuing to read.

I took a whole bunch of muscle relaxers last week 2 days in a row. 3 the first night, 5 the second. The immediate symptoms were dizziness, weakness, lightheadedness, nausia, diarrhea. Here it is a week later and i have this really intense pain in my abdomen-area. Like between where your groin/hip muscle would be and your ovary. it hurts a lot all the time. I'm wondering if its damage from the muscel relaxers or if i just pulled something because my muscles were so relaxed? Maybe it's not even related at all? Do i need to seek medical advice because my stomach has been feeling weird also.

Britta,

This is very serious. You should seek medical treatment immediately, as overdosing on muscle relaxers is especially dangerous. If you take too much, it can cause your diaphragm to relax to the point where it stops functioning, as well as your heart and lungs (also muscles). The symptoms that you described may also indicate other serious results of taking the substance.
Please get medical attention immediately. I hope everything is alright.

hey, I'd get checked out, even if its not related its still good to know forsure (and it very well could be related)

the fact is, the amount you took isn't a huge over dose, and I don't think you'd be at a high enough mg to do any real damage, alot of people underestimate how much of something you may actually have to take.

get it checked out, be safe.

Yea i figured it wasn't a lot at all but you guys are right I should just in case. =]

I don't know how though because they'd have to know I took too many on purpose and that would lead to trouble. =/

Thanks for the advice guys. It helps. =]

It may lead to trouble but it's better to be safe. Thats what my CPN always tells me after an OD. You may feel fine but its the damage it can cause later. Please think about getting checked out.
