Slightly Embarassing Problem - August 2nd 2010, 04:57 AM

I have this problem with my hands. Whenever it's hot out, or any time I hold something in my hands, they start to sweat. It happens in the winter so it's not just the heat, it can be anything, a console controller, a mouse, my phone, my lighter, my hands start to sweat whenever I'm holding something. Even if I'm not holding something they're sweating almost constantly. I hate shaking hands because mine are all sweaty and disgusting. They're moist right now as I type this. Any idea what this could be?

Anders: That's not evasive.
Isabela: Look, I didn't get where I am by showing my hand, you know?
Anders: No, it's not your hand that I've heard you've been showing...

Sounds like hyperhidrosis, which can occur for hands, face and hands. Only treatments I know of are surgical and botox but there were/are pharmacutical ones. However, the cause needs to be treated first, which can be anything from diabetes to side-effects of certain medications, tumours or gout. There are also different classifications of it to help determine its cause. Once the cause is known, then it can be treated better.

I have the exact same thing as you and it's a bloody nightmare. After a bit of googling a while ago, I came up with it being hyperhidrosis. And as far as I'm concerned, there's not really much that can be done for it. I went to the doctors about it and they gave me what appeared to be a really strong roll on deodorant to use on my hands, which failed to work. So I'm out of options. I've been suffering with it for as long as I can remember. If my hands are dry, even if I just think about it, I can practically feel them starting to sweat. It's gross, I know.

All I can suggest is to go to your doctor and try to get to the bottom of what your problem is, and try to find a cure. And then, get back to me and tell me how it went! 'Cause it's starting to annoy me too!

Good luck!

try odaban. it's like a miracle cure.. seriously. i used to put it on my face a few days before i did a show so my face wouldn't be all sweaty on stage.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Odaban-Spray...0802247&sr=8-1 you only need to put it on like once every week or so and it'll do the job.

..and our dreams will break the boundaries of our fears..
