Booooobs - August 26th 2010, 08:57 PM

I always hear that girls should check their breasts for lumps. But I wondered if you have to worry about hard lumps or are the like visible squishy ones?

I'm asking because recently I've noticed that my right breast hurts a little if I press it upwards from underneath. I've found a hard patch where I'm getting this pain. I'm wondering if it's something I should go to the doctors about?

Well, it could just be nothing but I'd say it's better to be on the safe side and get it checked out anyway.

I found something a couple of years back and got it checked out. It was nothing but I stressed over it so I was glad when I finally went to the doctors and they put my mind at rest

Hey there.

When your going through puberty, getting you period etc, its normal for your breast/s to hurt a bit. However, if you are a bit worried, getting it checked it will do no harm! It may be worth it. Im sure its nothing though!

There's 4 different kinds of breast lumps: Cysts, Fibroadenomas, Pseudolumps and Breast Cancer.

I'll give the general rundown of each one.

Cyst would feels smooth and squisy. It can move around and change size. This one is completely harmless. Cysts are generally found in older woman (30+)

Fibroadenomas feel hard and firm and are found near the surface of the breast. Found in younger women and teens. Harmless.

Pseudolumps is hard and will not move around. Harmeless.

Breast Cancer would feel like a golf ball or a walnut shell. It grows and is harmfull.

You should get checked regardless.

I'd definitely recommend going to get it checked out. it's probably nothing but it's better to be safe than sorry. when you're feeling for lumps make sure you keep your hand flat.

Hey there,

If you ever notice a change, lumps or anything, it's certainly worth getting them checked! Better safe than sorry. There's a number of things that it could be, and it could be perfectly fine. At the end of the day, you know your boobs and how they should feel, so it's always best for you to keep an eye out for these things!

PM me if you ever need anything. (:
