Weird sight issue - February 19th 2009, 02:47 PM

Sometimes I get this c-shaped line where everything is blurred. I don't have it all the time. Closing one eye does not correct the issue and if I look at other things it still persists. Like there are many lines nad they are moving and alternating colors. Where the line is distorted and I can't make out what it is. It is very small though and maybe a centimeter wide. Closing one eye does not fix it.

I've had it before and it went away.

Anyone have any idea what it could be? I was thinking maybe a vitamin deficiency, but then why would it persist in the same spot when I close one eye. Plus covering my eyes it's still there.

Beware of the cats.

see an optometrist about it as soon as possible. It's probably just some funky astigmatism that they can fix with glasses, but it's always worth checking weird shit out with a doctor.

I would see your primary care physician or an optometrist. I have an astigmatism as well as other eye issues from autoimmune problems, and I see mine regularly.

Also, as a side note, if you're taking any new medications, they can sometimes affect your vision. Try keeping a diary of when these episodes happen, how long they last, the symptoms, etc. This will REALLY help you and your doctor at the appointment, and they usually ask you to keep it anyway.
