Check Up ... freaking out - February 20th 2009, 03:45 PM

Today at 3:30pm I must see a doctor for my annual check up. I think freaking out would be an understatement for how I am feeling. The doctor last year told me I wasn't allowed to gain anymore weight... but I ended up gaining some. My mom is already yelling at me for it.... and I am completely freaked about going to the doctors office.... I don't want them to yell at me

I am thinking about just... blowing off the appointment, but my mom would go ballistic on me... what do I do??

I moved it to General Health since it's about your physical health and doctor's appointments.

I wouldn't blow it off, dear. If you have been legitmately trying your best, don't worry about what they have to say or see another doctor. If you have been trying, btw, and are still gaining weight, they may wanna check your thyroid. I have hypothyroidism and have struggled with weight gain and maintenance for years now.

If you haven't been following their instructions, consider getting a second opinion. Perhaps see a nutritionist if this could be the issue. Changing how you eat and exercise means changing how you think and that's a very hard thing to do. Most nutritionists recommend beginning to see a therapist when you begin to change diet and exercise.
