Exclamation CLEAN < CLEAN < CLEAN - November 17th 2010, 07:45 AM

Okay , so not a danger but I have an obsession with clean! Germs freak me out and hand gel is a must!
If someone coughs without a tissue right into their hand I panic about touching whatever they do!
Or goes to the loo without washing thier hands! (ErGHH)
Un cleanbathroom? Or kitchen....O_O

Is this weird or are other like this?

I don't really think that is particularly an obsession with being clean, to me it's just basic hygiene!
If you do think you have a problem though, you could consider going to your doctor and talking about these things if they're taking over your life. You may have an issue such as OCD, but to find out anything like this, you'll have to talk to a medical professional.

There's nothing wrong with being clean. It'll help you stay healthier in the long run.
It's courtesy to sneeze into a tissue, and not washing your hands after going to the bathroom is just...eugh.
I wouldn't worry about it. Unless you have an obsession with being clean to the point where it's interfering with your normal routine, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I don't think there's anything wrong with you. Some people just like things a certain way, and it's fine for you to like things clean!

I think everyone likes being and feeling clean, there's nothing wrong with it. Do you feel that it's an obsession and you're cleaning yourself when you don't need to? I mean, it could be OCD, and it could be worth speaking to a doctor or psychiatrist about it, but unless it's interrupting your life in a big way there's no point.

Re: CLEAN < CLEAN < CLEAN - November 22nd 2010, 01:07 AM

As stated above, I believe you might have a form of OCD. Several people have it, and it is perfectly normal. I also have a thing with germs where I have to take showers everyday and I take hand sanitizer with me everywhere.

My friend was obsessed with washing her hands when we were little. She actually dried them out pretty bad and ended up having to use a special hand lotion. So as long as you arn't overdoing it, extra hygienics won't hurt

And here you are living, despite it all.

That doesn't sound to bad to me. It's good general hygiene to stay sanitary.

I personally dislike it if someone coughs in their hand and then touches everything. Washing your hands after going to the bathroom is also a general safety rule. It's nothing to worry about. If it interferes with your life, then you should go see a mental health professional about it.
