Ears constantly ringing... - November 25th 2010, 12:15 PM

My dad was saying somthing about how he can't hear silence anymore, only ringing. I didn't notice before, but Iv had ringing in my ears for a while.. If its silent, I still hear chiming sounds. I remember I used to hear nothing when i was younger. Now it's a constant ringing. It's not so bad that I notice when stuff is going on around me or when people are talking, but its annoying when its quiet and all I hear is riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii.... Anyone know what this is? Can I stop it somehow? And I think someone said loud music does it, is that true?

Well, since none of us here are doctors we won't be able to tell you for certain what it is so I suggest going to your doctor about it.

It sounds like it could be tinnitus which is quite common these days.

But, that said, it could be something else so get checked at your doctor if it's worrying you

It could be many things. The best thing for you to do is to go and see your doctor and let them check it out. It could be easily fixable

Take care.

Sounds to me like tinnitus, which I know my dad and I have had for years. Unfortunately, if it is, I don't think there's any cure for it - though having noise such as music on can help =)

There's always light at the end of a tunnel, even if you have to pass a few bends to see it.

Proud reciever of a glance from Kyo xD

My ears were ringing a lot when they were blocked. I went and got them cleaned out and now they're fine. Your doctor should be able to sort it out for you
