My sleeping pattern sucks. - December 22nd 2010, 12:04 AM

I didn't know where to put this thread, so sorry if it's in the wrong place

I suffer from insomnia, it used to take me about 3 hours to get to sleep. Now I'm on prescribed sleeping tablets from my GP I can sleep pretty well. It now takes me about 20/30 minutes to get to sleep yay!

Problem is I still can't fall asleep before about 12-1am :/ Even if I take my sleeping tablets at about 10pm I can't fall asleep that early I wake up at about 11am which is a LOT of sleep :| The odd thing is if I don't sleep for about 10 hours I can't function throughout the day well.

I want to start falling asleep at a reasonable time and wake up at a reasonable time. I'm not in college or working at the moment due to anxiety problems (which I'm currently seeing a mental health nurse once a fortnight for) I have no real reason to get up earlier but I think sleeping half a day makes my depression a bit worse.

Any ideas? :/
