Diabetes

Can anyone tell me what the signs/symptoms for diabetes are? Ive tried to research but for some reason my internet doesn't want to work and let me on the websites haha.

Edit: Is there like a kit you can buy to find out if you are or do you need to get tests?
Thank you x

- Weakness and fatigue.
- Tingling or numbness in hand, feet or legs.
- Blurred vision.
- Skin that is dry and itchy.
- Frequent infections or cuts and bruises that take a long time to heal.

If you need someone to talk to, feel free to contact me.

Re: Diabetes

If you think you may have diabetes, you should go to the doctor immediately.

To check for Type One, they would probably run a test for the antibodies, check for ketones, test your current and fasting BG levels, etc...

For Type Two, the main indicator is if your fasting BG is higher than it should be (about 80 to 120 mg/mmol).

Good luck, and please get to the doctor ASAP. A delay in diagnosis could make you very very sick.

If you are worried it might be diabetes.. get a doctor's appointment as soon as you can. Diabetes isn't something you want to mess around with. And the longer you wait, if it IS diabetes, the worse.

I would say yes. You can never be too careful, ya know?

To answer your second question. It's better diagnosed from a doctor, possibly by him/her giving you a meter and testing yourself, or possibly getting a blood glucose test. I think brit has all the symptoms down right.
