Teething - December 29th 2010, 08:58 PM

I think my last wisdom tooth is coming through, there's a really tender sort of split in my gum and I think there's a tooth underneath it, but it's not started to come through yet. It's really quite painful and I can't eat on that side of my mouth =( Sucks, 'cuz all my other teeth were done growing about eleven years ago =(

Sucking on a piece of ice helped me! Do you have your other three wisdom teeth still, or were they removed? I still have mine, and it didn't hurt too badly when they were coming in for me. You might want to go to your dentist and check there is room for it!

I've got my other three, but I've had them for a while =/ I'll try the ice idea though, thanks =)

I would really suggest getting some Orajel. My son and I have been teething together, and I just use some of his baby orajel It makes it so much more tolerable!

Are you going to get them removed? I'd talk to a dentist and make sure you have enough room in your mouth for your wisdom teeth.

I'm a bit weird, but I chew gum and it helps with the pain after a bit. For some reason, chewing makes my teeth less painful. Orajel is good too. Check with your dentist, you might need them removed.

My 12 year molars are just now coming in, so I'm teething too. I suck on frozen grapes and strawberries, but I guess any frozen fruit would do. It helps numb my mouth.
I would recommend seeing a dentist too, like everyone else said.

Aw I had that problem a few weeks ago but I am feeling better now. I could not eat on that side of my mouth ether, it felt like knives going through my gum if I tried. I still do not think the tooth has grown in yet but at least for right now, it is not painful in any way. The pain lasted a week or 2 before going away. How long has yours been going on for? Oh and Oragel does help a little but it does not last long.

It's pretty much alright at the moment, but I still can't eat anything crunchy on that side of my mouth. Thanks for all the advice guys =)
