Getting Birth Control - February 25th 2009, 05:05 PM

Okay, so, here's the situation.
I'm in a sexual relationship with this guy. It was one of those heat of the moment decisions that lent itself to repetition and potentially a relationship.

We don't want a baby We're using condoms, but I'd like to have as much back up working in my favor as possible.

My problem is, I'm away at college and can't get home soon or easily. Meaning I can't go to my doctor and ask for birth control.

What are my options?
I'm trying to work a visit to Planned Parenthood into my schedule, but their hours are impossible
If I do go that route, can anyone tell me about pricing?

Thanks.

Planned parenthood is probably your best bet if you are away at college, especially if you don't have access to an on campus doctor? The pricing with birth control depends on the kind that get, right now I am on Yasmine and I believe for my 3 months supply it's about $40 CAN. But once again it all depends on what you're getting put on, but it should be relatively inexpensive.

Sorry i don't know about this prising. one another solution is that you can meet another doctor who solve your problem.

find a local doctor to help you with it. For pricing I'm not sure cause I'm on my first prescription, but they will tell you about that.

If getting the pill is troublesome for you at the moment, you could always go for other backups such as spermicide. Most stores that sell condoms sell spermicide lubricant, if I'm correct.

Otherwise, you might have to try a campus doctor or go to a new doctor, or try to squeeze in an appointment with PP.
