Brown rice and beans (I usually use black beans) are a great source of protein and a lot of other very useful things. Nuts are a great too. Look into Indian food. It's all very satisfying and flavorful and easily adopted to vegetarianism. Whey protein would be very useful for you.

Try not to get too anal about managing your diet. Hit your calorie goal in a ballpark range along with your protein goals. Drink a ton of water.

Please note that I'm not exactly a bodybuilder. I'm no authority, but it's worked for me in the past. I don't like my diet to lose whatever "soul" it has, so I don't pay too much attention to my total intake of everything. It's worked for me in the past to just know that I should be trying to eat a lot of protein and up my calories.

some foods that you could try with protein are;

Tuna (if you eat fish)
Brown Rice
Egg whites (they have less fat then the centre)
and Protein shakes (buy them at health-food stores or bodybuilding stores.
