Wii Fit? - March 1st 2009, 05:16 PM

I've heard great reviews for the Wii Fit.

Does it actually work? Do you use it? Do you like it?

I want to get one but I wanted to see what you guys thought first.

Re: Wii Fit? - March 1st 2009, 05:19 PM

Hi,

My dad bought a wii fit for us. I have only used it once, so im not sure if its one of those things that you get fed up with pretty soon or just cant be bothered. It seemed good to me though and i had a laugh with it. It did work and i liked it though for sure... if you want to know more, im happy to help

Re: Wii Fit? - March 1st 2009, 06:31 PM

I do think the wii fit is good fun but if you are actually looking to get fit or lose weight it is better to just go to the gym.

As for the actual game it is fun and you look like an idiot when playing so it is a good laugh to play with friends.
I don't play on mine as much as I should but I am alone in my house and I when I play it I only play the Balance Games such as hula hoops and step aerobics, I do not make any use of the work outs or yoga.

One of my friend's has it. It's actually lots of fun. We probably spent most of the time I was over last using it.
However, for getting in shape, you could use it but you'd want to check your weight and stuff on another scale because I swear it's wrong. It said I lost XXpounds in two minutes. I don't think that was right.

Re: Wii Fit? - March 1st 2009, 07:15 PM

Well, I'm looking for something that makes working out fun, and I think the Wii Fit does that. I mean, I will use other exercise techniques, along with healthy eating, to acheive my fitness goals. I'm getting a Wii for my birthday, and I wanted to get the Wii Fit as well to make my workouts and losing weight more fun. I lack the motivation that I need to get in shape, and I think this will help.

I've only used it a few times but my mom and dad and sisters use it. My mom lost weight, while on a healthy diet, and she discussed it with her doctor.
If you want to use it as a weight loss tool, I'd talk to your doctor.

It probably does work in due course but going for a walk/cycle/swim would be far more effective

I don't have one and never will because I'd look like a complete nimcompoop should I ever use it

I have one. I think it is a great tool if you use it in addition to some other work out program but on its own is fine too.

Oh! I heard about these, I've never tried one but I think they're pretty good if you want to lose a little weight but I don't think it'd have the greatest affect for someone wanting to lose quite a bit since you're not actually getting a real work out are you?

My family just got the Wii. And we want wiifit but I've heard that while the reviews were good you're not really getting any more exercise than when you're doing the games. But who knows, I'm sure it at least gets you moving decently.

Re: Wii Fit? - March 3rd 2009, 08:24 PM

The Wii Fit is pretty fun, my family has one. The games are very silly and fun, it is a lot of fun to watch family member play them, because you do very weird and silly looking things.

But anyway, it does give you a bit of a workout. But i wouldn't just rely on it for a work out and losing weight, going to a gym would be better for that. But i will say my balance was a bit better after playing for a while, so it is good for that.
