I never thought this was a problem until more recently....Everytime I have a normal bowl movement, I end up bleeding. So much to where blood will drip into the toilet....the only pain I have is a little stinging afterwards. I can sit there for a couple minuites just dabbing up the blood. I only became more aware of how bad it was when after me and my boyfriend had anal sex, he freaked out when he was covered in blood from just that little spot....He asked me if it hurt-it didn't, I didn't feel it bleeding or anything.
Should I be seeking help from a doctor, or is this type of bleeding normal? |

Since you don't feel it bleeding, it's probably a more superficial wound at the anus itself rather than an internal one. The fact there probably is a decent amount of blood lost from that particular area can be cause for concern. It's likely more of a superficial wound so your doctor could examine it and see what is there. If it's not superficial, then it's more internal and that's where red flags start popping up because it usually is associated with lower intestinal-colon problems and can cause a significant health decline depending on what it actually is.
It's not normal bleeding unless it's superficial. You mentioned having anal sex with your boyfriend so perhaps from a previous anal sex intercourse, there was damage done. I can rip you off, and steal all your cash, suckerpunch you in the face, stand back and laugh. Leave you stranded as fast as a heart-attack.

You might want to talk to your doctor, as well. You could also have hemorrhoids, either there or starting to develop.

I agree with the above posters.
I don't mean to be disgusting, but the color of the blood may be notable. Bright red blood is typically from an area closer to the exit, but darker red blood comes from further inside. You should certainly see a doctor either way, since only a doctor can properly diagnose you, and this information might be helpful to have. If the blood is a bright red, it's simply a tear somewhere around your anus where you may have had a bowel movement that was too hard or too large. I recently had the same problem. Blood in the toilet seems to look a lot worse than it is, and the blood loss is relatively minimal.
It -will- take a while to heal, and even a normal bowel movement will sting. I would suggest going to the pharmacy and picking up a stool softener... Not necessarily a laxative, but definitely a stool softener. If that doesn't help and you see no difference in a week or so, it's worth talking to your doctor about. Also, if the blood is darker red, that's a sign that it's dried up and coming from something internally and it's something to look at right away. Keep an eye on it and make sure that the blood is simply mixed in with the stool and in the toilet rather than having a bloody stool. If you have a bloody stool (and it's relatively dark), go to the doctor immediately. If it's mixed in and bright red, keep an eye on it and get a stool softener. “Don't get too comfortable with who you are at any given time.
