Hey.

I was just wondering can things like getting shampoo, bubble bath and shaving foam cause infections? Its not like I cant just not bath. I don't really know the causes of infections although I know I've had one from self harm before and had to be put on anti-biotics. Don'y know why I am asking, just curios.

Anything that is considerd a foreign body (by your immune system) can cause infections, so I guess it could. I personally havn't had i happen. I would just be careful.

Infections are caused by a foreign body making it past the nonspecific lines of defense, then the inflammatory response is triggered which produces white blood cells to enter infected cells. Phagocytes a type of white blood cells are also released to engulf bacteria.

The only reason I know this is we just studied that in my bio class. And I looked some of it up in my textbook to double check. I hope it helped!

not sure, i always thought that infections ment that they are not being kept clean ect. im not sure, maybe when you have a bath ect cover them with a plaster or something that is waterproof that way you can still bath ect and know that they are safe from infection.

Infections are usually caused by bacteria, viruses or fungi entering an open wound. The shampoo/shaving foam/bubble bath e.t.c won't cause an infection itself. However, it is unlikely your shampoo e.t.c is sterile, and may have a small number of microorganisms in that could cause an infection. That's unlikely though, in fact, you're probably better off using them, instead of avoiding them.
