Dizzy spells. -
April 24th 2011, 01:53 AM
Okay. Well, I'm used to the normal: "Get up too fast, you're going to get dizzy," sort of thing.
This isn't that. A second ago, I stood up from my bed and walked to my bedroom door to open it so that the air circulation would cool off my room a bit. I walked as far as the door frame, about five or six feet, and my head just started spinning and my legs felt like lead and my vision got dark. Usually, it doesn't happen very often, but it's been happening a lot as of late. My mom says it could be because my iron's low, but she doesn't seem to think it's serious. Yet it worries me a bit. Does anyone else have anything on this, similar experiances, et cetera? ![]() It takes a long time to grow an old friend. - John Leonard |

I'm not a doctor, but your mom sounds like she's on the right track. You could be missing some essential nutrients in your diet. Or you could be dehydrated, I've gotten dizzy and momentarily couldn't see from dehydration.
If it continues and hydrating yourself doesn't help, I'd see a doctor. Unfortunately, dizzy spells can be a sign of a lot of things. I hope it isn't serious, good luck! <3 |

This happens to me a lot. I'll stand up and walk somewhere and on the way it's like everything slowly gets dark and I'm really dizzy and then it just kind of fades away. I often get really intense headaches that are like a really strong thumping in my head afterwards but they only last a few minutes. I can't really suggest anything to help it since I'm not sure myself, I've just gotten so used to them that I just keep walking or doing what I'm doing until it passes so that no one notices.
I can't help you, but you're definitely not alone with it! Let me know if you find anything that helps it, I'd be really interested to hear.

While I was in the nurses office today I asked her about this since it happens to me too. I'm a vegetarian so I don't get much iron or protein. She said iron deficiencies can cause dizziness and its best to take iron supplements. I recommend going to your doctor to find out which would be best for you.
Take care <3 ![]() Buddy|Live Help Operator|HelpLink Mentor|Social Networking Team Relationships&Dating Mod|Lifestyle Mod|Media&Entertainment Mod Performance Committee |

Nat I'm in the same boat.
I personally hate doctors etc so I avoid them at all costs haha but I also have lost my vision and gotten dizzy like that as well. I'd be curious to know what you find out if any of you do get it checked out. It could be low iron or dehydration as the other posters mentioned. I'm no doctor but that'd be my guesses as well. Just try and eat properly and take vitamins. If you're worried about it theres no harm in getting it checked out I just avoid drs at all costs haha so I'd be a total hypocrite to tell you to go
