Angry Rant. :| Might be triggering. I don't know. - April 27th 2011, 12:19 AM

I guess this is more of a rant than anything, but it's really frustrating me. The issue is that my clothes are getting noticeably large. I lost my mood ring in England because it was too big and kept falling off (totally panicking me, I have nothing to fidget with when I get nervous now! ) my favourite skinny jeans need a belt to hold them up, my only belt is totally wrecked because I use it so often. A pair of jeans I stopped wearing because they were too tight now need to be pulled up constantly and when I do that, it becomes obvious that they're too short for me. :| Nothing is EVER too short for me. I'm a midget. Anyway, off the point.
My parents have started telling me I "need to gain a few pounds" and I keep telling them that it doesn't matter how much I eat, it doesn't make a difference. Technically, I'm not lying to them. I've been a LOT more lax with how much I eat and calories and stuff lately and I'm not really gaining anything. Makes me wonder why I was so worried about it in the first place. I was talking to a friend from college about it earlier, just saying that my parents thought I should gain a little and it wasn't for happening even when I do eat and she told me she reckons that might be a thyroid problem and I should ask a doctor about it. I would if I knew what that was or why she thinks that so any ideas on that would be great.
I've always been kind of small, so when people mention it, I put it down to just how I am. I used to have a slightly overweight friend and I always remembered her talking to my mum about how I'm really lucky because she just "has to look at a burger" and gains weight. I just have to look at a salad and I lose weight. And no, I'm not kidding. The only time I can't lose it is when I try to. Then I just seem to be stable or gain a couple of pounds.
But now that I am trying to get a little better and gain something, it's not working. And I realise that it's not something I've ever really been able to do. And I don't know why.
And it's weird because I eat plently (Okay, nowhere near the recommended amount thingies but enough for me) and there isn't really any way for me to get much exercise due to a lack of gym and activities in the area. (unless I take up kick boxing but that sounds a little scary ) So if I eat a lot. And I'm not exercising. How is it logical that I'm either staying stable or losing weight?
Geeze my body is ridiculous.
Another thing. Dizzy spells. My God everytime I stand up I have to deal with everything going dark for a few seconds and feeling really dizzy. If I lay down afterwards (like if I got up to turn out the light before bed) I get really intense headaches that are like "BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM" in my head. But they only last a few minutes before they kind of die down and slowly become less painful over time.
My leg likes to vibrate when I don't have it flat on the ground. I don't know if that's normal but if I'm on a chair and my feet don't fully reach the ground, I'll just have my toes on the ground and my weight kind of resting on my legs. But then my leg starts doing this shaking thing. Shakes up and down really fast. Vibrating almost. Up and down and up and down really quickly (Mind out the gutter. ) but moving too far to actually be vibrating, if that makes sense. Probably doesn't. It's 1am.
Seriously though, my body drives me insane. Weight. Height. Pins and needles. Dizzy. Vibrating. MY NOSE FREAKING TWITCHES. My eyes are different colours. My brother is terrified of my feet. After I eat or drink I get like random little hiccups but only 3 or 4. If I don't move my leg the right way when changing position or stretching, it feels like my knee has dislocated or something and I have to try really hard to make it move so I can bend it and it goes back into place and so commences the most instense pain ever.
And I know I'm complaining. It's 1am and I'm tired. And I'm freaking urgey as heck and waited half an hour for childline's 1-2-1 thing before I gave up.
I should sleep before I get any more frustrated.
Still. Any ideas of any of this stuff would be great.

I'm going to sleep soon but I'll definitely come and edit my reply to make it more detailed tomorrow.

Firstly, if your clothes are getting noticeably too big for you then you really need to eat more. I know you said it doesn't matter but you should be eating more. That could be a reason why you're having these dizzy spells and headaches as well because you're not getting all the nutrients you need.

Also, if you're not eating the recommended amount of calories then you'll start to lose weight even if you're not doing exercise. The body does other things with those calories so if you're under the RDA then it'll start having to break down fat reserves, hence weight loss.

Also, I think it's pretty normal to get the leg shaking thing. I get that all the time.

As I said I'll come update this once I've been to bed and slept properly but I hope this helped a little.

I think its time to go to the doctor.

Your friend is right, it could very well be a thyroid problem.

Which means:

Thyroids are glands in your body. Its an endocrin thing. (endocrinology. has to do with central nervous system, hormones, stuff like that.)

you could have hypothyroidism, the number one symptom of this is weight loss. google it, you can read more about it online, that may make more sense than what i'm saying.. haha.

Also, the dizziness, pins and needles thing, weight/height thing, being underweight, etc.. It honestly sounds like some sort of endocrin thing to me. I go to an endocrinologist for insulin resistance (similar to type 2 diabetes) and my brother goes to one for a growth hormone deficiency. They deal with all sorts of stuff and i think some tests from your family doctor might help determine whats giong on.

Cause i doubt if your clothes are getting visibly bigger on you, that quickly, that is has much if anything to do with your eating.

Hope you figure things out. <3
