Glandular fever?? D: (mono) - May 3rd 2011, 04:17 PM

Ok, so I was in a play about three weeks ago where I had to kiss someone. Just on the lips and saliva was definitely not exchanged, but between rehearsals and performances we had to kiss a fair few times. And he's just rung me to say he's been diagnosed with glandular fever, or mono as some of you would call it, and it apparently started in the last 30 days, which is when it was contagious....agh

If we didn't kiss, um, intimately could it still have been passed on?? And is there anything I can do to prevent it happening?? I have exams coming up :/

I'd suggest heading to the doctor to get blood tests done sooner rather than later. If they catch it early then they can start treatment which might help reduce the symptoms of it.

It's mainly spread through saliva and airborne droplets so if you didn't exchange saliva there's a likely chance you didn't pick it up but it's better to be safe than sorry.

Take care and I hope you haven't got it
