Eyesight and hiccups? - June 29th 2011, 07:13 AM

I just want to know how common this is and if it is anything that I should get checked out.
I have really weird huccups and I am almost always seeing double.

My hiccups are random, really loud and just one or two. I also get them every hour or so and everyone tells me that it's weird but I never noticed it because it's just always happened.

But the thing I am actually worried about is my eyes. If I don't focus my eyes everything close to me looks double, and by the end of the school day I have a headache from trying to keep my eyes focused. The farther away something is the more focused it is and if it's moving and it's far away it wont happen at all.
Should I go to the optometrist, and if I do will they be able to do anything for me?

I know that no one on here is a medical professional, well at least I guess but I just want to know if this is common and if it's not and someone has experience how I should deal with it.

The hiccups seem perfectly normal, although at an odd pattern.

For your eyesight, if you have good visual acuity for objects far away but not close, it's likely hyperopia. This is easily corrected by contact lenses, glasses and possibly eye laser surgery. As for the double vision, I have the same and it's especially noticable if someone is standing next to a chalkboard or something with high contrast. However, even for near-by objects, I see a double-version of them. When I contacted my eye doctor, he gave me glasses to correct myopia as well as this double-vision. There's not much you can do on your own as it won't change if you do something on your own other than get contacts, glasses or eye surgery.

I can rip you off, and steal all your cash, suckerpunch you in the face, stand back and laugh. Leave you stranded as fast as a heart-attack.
