I have not had it done, however some of my friends have. They said that you will be sore after but its nothing you can't handle. And the 3rd day is apparently the worst. Also, your mouth will bleed for a few days. Just eat lots of ice cream and take the meds they give you and in a week or so you'll be all better.
Good luck!

I've had my wisdom teeth pulled, all 4 at once. The same day they are pulled, you probably won't feel much pain for a while because the anaesthesia is long-lasting, however, your gums will be bleeding quite a lot so you're often given gauze to insert in your mouth. The next few days tend to hurt more and you won't be able to open your mouth all the way without it hurting, so chewing on hard foods will make it hurt. Eating lots of ice cream isn't a great idea at all. Instead, I recommend scrambled eggs, soft soup, puddings, apple sauce, baby food and Mr. Noodles (or something similar).

If it's hurting quite a bit around a week or so after the surgery, your dentist or dental surgeon can give you "packing", which basically is stuffing treated cloves into the teeth holes (they often aren't stitched shut). You can do it yourself with cloves and clove oil as it's a great relief. The only down-side is your breath will have a strong smell of cloves and you'll be tasting it for as long as it's in your mouth. Many people dislike cloves, although I do like them. The packing would be removed in around 5-7 days.

The clove remedy works for tooth pain not due to wisdom teeth as well, even root canals.

As a side-note, don't use a straw when your gums are healing up. Also, try to stay away from highly acidic foods as it can irritate the area, especially if it's already infected.

I can rip you off, and steal all your cash, suckerpunch you in the face, stand back and laugh. Leave you stranded as fast as a heart-attack.
