Weak Bladder - March 12th 2009, 09:21 PM

As you might know already going back a couple of months ago I had a bad Wee infection. It got cured and it has never come back. But I have another issue worrying me at the moment. Since I had that infection my bladder seems to be weaker. I go for a wee every 5-10 mins which wasnt like me before. And I wanted to know if this was normal or something to be worried about. Could it be a different form of a wee infection or just the 1st one made it weak. Though I dont have any other sytoms apart from peeing alot.
Thanks for the help,

I am going to say that you should not be needing to pee every 5-10 minutes. That's really debilitating and scary sounding. I think you need to speak with your doctor and maybe even get referred to a urologist.

I believe my nutrition teacher said 5-8 times a day is normal. Considering you're not sick, drank a normal amount of fluids, etc.

Sounds nasty.
I have always had to pee frequently - weak bladder due to anxiety stuff. But usually no more frequently that every 30 minutes-1 hour when it's at it's peak worst.

If you're having to pee that often, you need to let your doctor know. The infection itself or the medications used to treat it could have affected your bladder. Also, during infections, sometimes we strain to urinate, which can also weaken your bladder and the surrounding muscles.
