The question that plagues us all... - March 17th 2009, 05:34 AM

I used to eat healthy, work out, and count EVERY FREAKING CALORIE. I did this EVERYDAY, and I barely lost any wieght. I was borderline anorexic and still, no results. The only time I lost a significant amount of weight and was able to fit into normal sized clothes was when I started this terrible habbit of bullemia. Since the situation is starting to get out of hand, I'm trying to take control of the situation. But, how will I keep the wieght off without relapsing?

and don't tell me to simply diet and excersize. If it were that easy, I wouldn't have developed this habbit in the first place!

I'm going to move this to General Health as I think it fits better there than in ED, if anyone disagrees feel free to move it back. [:

If healthy dieting and exercise isn't helping, I'd say to speak with your doctor about ways you can lose weight healthily, your doctor can help you come up with a plan that's right for you where you might see more results. Seeing a nutritionist is another alternative.

Sarah is right; you need to see your doctor/nutritionist so as to rule out things like thyroid disorders which could be preventing you from losing weight.

Are you medically underweight; though? Has a medical professional told you this or are you just assuming? You need to rule out things like BDD(body dysmorphic disorder) as well so it would be really wise to see your doctor ASAP before the 'habits' get out of hand.

like the above posts, please go visit a doctor or perhaps a nutritionlist. they'll be better at diagnosing your problem then us.

See your doctor. It is possible that you could have some type of thyroid problem or something similar. A lot more goes into our weight than just how much we eat versus how much we exercise.

You need to consult with your doctor. They can help you to find the right nutritionist and plan to help you, possibly counseling if you aren't already in it. I firmly believe in situations like this, you have to treat the mind as much as the body. I was "actively" anorexic for 3 years, and I do my best to keep from slipping into those habits (which I stopped about three years ago), but I've had relapses. They happen, but if they can be prevented, they should be.

As already said, your doctor would probably be the best option for you right now.

A generally healthy lifestyle will keep your weight down, eating the recommended daily calories and such...

maybe you have a thyroid issue. go to ur doc, get a quick blood test and they can tell you if you do. if you do, its just a pill a day, and it will get your thyroid back to normal, and will likely help you with weight, depression, energy, etc.

I agree with everyone that said to talk to a doctor. I'm currently doing weight watchers which is basically what you were doing and not seeing results. Try working out more, and cutting out more carbs.
