Pelvic Pain,Heavy Periods? - March 19th 2009, 09:59 AM

I've had constant pelvic pain/cramping for a year and a half now, almost 2 years and it's only getting worse.I've had ultrasounds and a laparoscopy but it didn't show anything.I was also placed on birthcontrol for 6 months and it didn't help at all.I've tried advil, tylenol 3's,strong anti-inflammatories nothing helps the pain.

Also since the pain started my periods have been really messed up.I used to be quite regular before the pain started (every 36-38 days)but when the pain first started my cycles changed anywhere from 14 days to 40 days, and now my cycles have been getting longer it went from 42 days to over 54 days. Also my periods have always been heavy since I first started when I was 12 (I'm almost 18)but since the summer it's been rediculously heavy,I soak through a super tampon in half an hour to an hour.

The doctors I've been to have no idea what's wrong and the gyn I went to just gave up on me a few months ago.I'm going to look for another doctor once things settle down and I'm done moving out.

Does anyone know what this might be?Has anyone experienced anything like this?

You wonder why I never smile anymore, but with broken homes come broken smiles.

Has the acidic rain burned a hole so deep, that we don't care what's beneath our feet?

I'm a freak and my best friend is a pirate-ninja-dinosaur,what a unique friendship!

My heart is so numb, that I can't feel it breaking

We honestly can't say, because it seems you have had the procedures done that are usually used for these issues. Perhaps a transvaginal ultrasound, if you haven't had it, could be done to look closer at the ovaries and uterus, to see if there are any cysts or the like causing some of the issues.

I'd definitely look into a second opinion with a gyn and maybe another internist/internal medicine doctor.
