Question Rabbit SCRATCHED me - November 13th 2011, 02:08 PM

hello!

so. i'm really having trouble dealing with animals lately. lol. anyway, so I was at my cousin's house this afternoon. he had 6 pet rabbits, 3 were just weeks old. he let them out of the cage and so they wandered around the garden.

I picked the other one, it was cute and tiny but i think i startled IT. and it scratched me, i checked the scratch but it just left a red mark but it's starting to the fade atm.

mom asked me if there was blood when it scratched me and there wasn't. i just washed it with water, and i poured alcohol but didn't feel any pain.

according to them, rabbit can carry rabies too. mom told me not to be alarmed. SHOULD I BE ALARMED?

I doubt it. Any animal can carry rabies, and in theory and human... but it's unlikely if they're domestic rabbits. Besides... it sounds like the scratch barely pierced your skin. If you didn't feel any pain at all with alcohol it means it probably didn't pierce your skin.

If you've got some spare time, read this:

But don't if you're easily triggered. If you're not easily triggered then go ahead.

If its already fading then I say you've got nothing to worry about.
