Random Blackouts; Ideas? -
November 22nd 2011, 05:36 PM
Okay, Here's the thing. I randomly have blackouts. When these occur I usually get lightheaded, sometimes I get a headache after it, also. It happens 3-4 times a week (give or take more/less, just depends). I've never really thought anything of it, but I thought maybe I should ask. They last for only a few seconds, then my vision comes back as if nothing happened. Does anyone have any suggestions on what could be causing these, or maybe even if I should go to the doctor?
Note; I've never told my parents..I have told my Boyfriend though. |

I would see a doctor about it, it could be 1 of many things going on. Some aren't all that serious and can be quickly cured other things it could be are a bit more serious. Generally it sounds likes it might be lack of energy/sugar but I would see a doctor so they can properly tell you what's going on.

I get these sometimes, it turned out to be because of my heart block. I would just call your doctor and tell him/her what happens, how long it lasts, etc. A lot of things could be causing the blackouts so you should get a diagnosis asap.

I had this happen to me, but only once. It was because I was severely hydrated and had gastritis (where my stomach had inflamed, causing me to vomit). In any case, your doctor would be the person to see since they're the only ones who can diagnose you with a problem. However, it sounds a lot like what happened to me. Try drinking a few glasses of water each day, and try to stay away from caffeinated drinks such as soda, coffee, etc. Those can severely dehydrated you since your depriving your body of the water it needs. I would still make an appointment with your doctor to see what the actual cause is.
