Question Could something else be wrong with me? - November 30th 2011, 03:29 AM

I am 19 almost 20
I am overweight (extremely) Diabetes runs in my family, I am anemic and a vegitarian. I have scar tissue in my lungs from having pneumonia as a toddler and not being treated properly and I have asthma and a bunch of allergies. I live in a dorm room in south east wisconsin on lake michigan.

Since June I have had 5 UTI's one bladder infection and a kidney infection sinusitis a handful of times and since september I have had bronchitus and pneumonia three times and currently have tonsillitis.
I normally have sporadic episodes where I dont feel good. Have since I was little. but these last 5 months have seemed a little ridiculous because it feels like the second I feel better I'm sick again.

Is there something else that could be wrong with me? Like some immune system issue that doctors arent checking for?

I think that it is possable that your immune system has lowered. When your sick the white blood cells fight off the issue / virus. And when you countinuiously get sick without a large break your white blood cells do not reporduce in time thus leaving your body even more unprotected. Obviously this doctor you have isnt doing everything he should be doing; I reccommend going to a specialist doctor that covers immune systems.

I hope you know that you deserve it all. The best, the most honest, the most beautiful purest love in the world. Not only to be loved by others, but to be loved by yourself. To look in the mirror and think "Yes, I'm exactly who I want to be". To speak up and be proud of yourself. To be brave and open. You deserve the nicest and most caring people to walk into your life. You deserve it all, you know. The whole world...

I agree this does not sound normal and it could be something with your immune system. Definitely would suggest seeing a doctor or a different doctor.

Granted, I had 3 UTIs in just two months and a kidney infection. It turned out I had an underlying infection. But you have so many unrelated illnesses, I have no idea what to make of it other than your immune system.

In the meantime, definitely up your Vitamin C intake. Try some teas like green tea or chamomile. Fruits are your best friend right now. Vitamin A and Vitamin B2 are ones you may want to try and see how they work for you.

Greek plain yogurt can help as well. Garlic has always been considered "mystical" due to its healing properties, so don't eat enough to where you're sweating it, but adding it to your diet could be helpful.

Hope this helps until you find out what is going on.
