Nonstop headache for the past week... -
December 31st 2011, 05:11 AM
Ive had a non-stop headache for the past week :C
It will go away for an hour if i take any advil/tyenol/ibprohen(not all at once lol) and it will go away for a few minutes when i eat something, but other then that it sticks to me like white on rice. ![]() The aching is mainly in the back area of my skull, and whenever i flex it (tensing it up, whatever its called...) it flares up worse. Any ideas on what this could be? Its killing me slowly x.X Also, could it be a cold? I havent been feeling the best, but i havent been feeling the best for the past few weeks. This started in the past week. ~No Longer an active account~

For myself, I've found that excederin is best for headaches. however, If its down on the back of the head and near the neck, it could be that you threw your neck out, or theres a soft tissue problem with your neck. I'm personally a fan of chiropractors, and if I were you I'd get my neck adjusted at one, but views on that vary greatly from person to person. And you should see a doctor if possible if it persists or worsens after trying something else.

Whats your caffeine intake like?
I ask because I work weekends and drink a lot of soda there. About two weeks ago I spent the whole week with a hugeeee headache until I got to work on friday, drank soda, and it magically went away. It sounds stupid but that's what it was for me! Hey, I'm Jon!

I mainly drink tea. :l That could be a liable reason for my headaches. I'll stop drinking that and stick to water/juice for the next week, and see if that helps. Thanks C:

I had something similar which lasted two weeks. Turned out it was a migraine, which I kept pushing myself to be active and work in light, etc. So the headache never had time to go away and it ended up irritating my muscles so badly they swelled up and wouldn't deswell.
My doctor had to prescribe a muscle relaxer and some stronger Ibuprofen. I was better within a couple days. So, yes contact your doctor. Probably nothing major just muscles that are irritated and aren't able to relax on their own. So you have gray hair and you're only 26
that's just another reason I love you... ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I get headaches for months at a time(i have terrible anxiety). They suck. Believe it or not a headache is very rarely a sign of something serious. The fact that you mentioned that it hurts more when you tense leads me to think it's most likely a tension headache. It probably wont shift until you stop stressing over it. I hope you feel better soon ^^!
