Question The Falling Dream? - March 3rd 2012, 11:01 PM

Hey guys, I honestly don't know where to put this question on so I just decided to put it here. Anyway, I've been having this dream for about two weeks straight, it's pretty freaky. It goes like this, I'm on top of a building, then I just fall straight down. But before I get to hit the ground, I wake up with the sensation of falling. Then my heart beat starts to go really fast & I get all sweaty. (It's Autumn here so it should be pretty cold.) Anyway, what does this mean? It's really scary for me because when I was younger I had huge fear of heights (Not so much right now.). Any answers would be really appreciated x.

I can understand your frustration. I would definantly say that your fear of heights when you were younger is a contribution to this scary dream. Perhaps now that you're not so scared of heights this fear is coming back to you so you would recieve this fear and thus have the fear of heights. I'm not an expert but I first say great job for talking about it. That's a huge step to release the emotions and fear that you felt. Secondly, If you have the dream again, when you go back to sleep, make it end well. Think of a good ending and go to sleep with it. And last if you feel that fear in the dream tell yourself that you are not scared of heights and enjoy your way down, and end your flight down safetly like imagine yourself landing in a safety net or something. I'v had a similar repetitive dream to this so I know what you are talking about and how you feel. And what I suggested you is what I did myself. Pm me if you want to talk more about this or rant about this or anything

I had this dream a couple times about three years ago. The second time I was so scared I wet the bed. THAT scared me so bad I told my Dad. He told me lots of people have dreams about falling, especially kids.

I do not have a fear of heights or anything, but I have not had that kind of dream again so far. I have had dreams that scared me awake, but none about falling anymore. I would guess that if you're having it over and over, you might want to talk to a doctor.

Dreams usually reflect on how you're feeling, or something you're subconciously feeling. I know with me, I have a chasing dreams a lot. Like, my dad will be chasing me and trying to hurt me or killing. I'm very interested in dreams, and try to study my own to see what they mean. I've come to my own conclusion about mine that I feel like I'm running from my dad and from my feelings and fear about him, but every single time he almost gets to me I find a way around it and keep running from my fear about him and I am too scared to confront him.

Normally, falling dreams symbolize a feeling of hopelessness and fear. Falling dreams where you hit no bottom can also represent a feeling like there is no end to this fear.

Just a girl with an angel above, just a girl with an angel to love. My angel grew wings and she did dare to fly. But I promise my angel, it's only good night but never good-bye. My angel, my angel in heaven above. My angel, my darling, you'll always have my love. Rest in peace, my sweet darling, it's only temporary that we part. My angel, my angel, how you still do steal my heart </3
