Weight Loss - March 4th 2012, 09:59 AM

Hi people, been thinking about weight loss recently.

I just wanna get skinny legs and tummy. Any easy exercises and/or diets you can give me?

Btw, Im 13

I have weighed myself and I am XX lbs underweight.

Hi Beth,
To be honest, this post would probably fit better in the Eating Disorders forum. I can't tell you how to lose weight, as that would be encouraging unhealthy behaviour, which is against the Code of Conduct.
There is so much stigma nowadays surrounding the 'perfect' body, when really, such a thing doesn't exist. You should only actively lose weight if you are overweight and/or have an associated health risk. As you have said in your post, if you are underweight, then it is likely you could become very ill from further losing weight. In your case, you should probably try to gain weight to be back in the "healthy" weight range.
If, however, I've misunderstood your post, and you just want to tone up, then gentle exercise is the key. Try a google search for further tips.

I agree with Kate. I know from experience how much pressure we have on us and how much having the 'perfect' body means, but when it puts your health at risk it's just not worth it.

At your age, a diet should only be undertaken with the guidance of a doctor or other professional as you are still growing. You say you are underweight, so a doctor is possibly going to want you to gain weight and certainly won't want you losing any weight.

There are exercises you can do which can help to tone parts of your body like you stomach and your legs. Crunches and sit ups can be great for tummy muscles. Google will give you better answers than I can. :')

The other thing to work on would be your self esteem. It's better to change the way that you view your body instead of changing the way that your body looks.
