Quiting - April 10th 2012, 02:20 PM

Hey everyone.
Not sure if this goes here but I'll try.
I need to quit smoking, and can't do it on my own.
I've tried for a year, and it won't work,
I was just wondering if anyone could give me some tips,
Or even just tell me what worked for them.

Hi Ally,

Good for you for wanting to quit! You're experiencing the power of nicotine addiction, it's very strong.

There are a number of ways of quitting, most involve incredible will power and self control, there are support groups and online services available, check them out. Also, there's 'The patch' (which is available OTC), and if that doesn't work your MD can prescribe Chantrix, a new medication that has been shown to be very effective at reducing the cravings.

Good luck, and don't get discouraged!

PM me with the link of the post you'd like me to respond to.
