Blueberries! - April 16th 2012, 09:51 AM

Hi!

I love Bluberries, but whenever I eat them I start to feel nauseos and headachey -.- sometimes i'll throw up, but this is only if I eat them on their own (not in cake, fruit bars etc)

Does it seem I have an intollerance to them allergy, what?
This sucks, I really cannot eat them without the side affects

AND I LOVE BLUEBERRIES!

Thanks

Take care xx

Well...

Do you wash them thoroughly? This might sound a bit absurd, but take one or two and wash them with a little dish soap (and rinse) and see what happens.

This is a good point. Even if you just run them under water, that's not getting them cleaned as well as they should. They could have pesticide on them, which can definitely cause your symptoms. Even if they are organic, sometimes they will slip in some form of pesticide.

Be sure to rub the fruit well. Though, avoid dish soap.

LOL don't put dish soap on them..... you will get a bigger tummy ache from that xD

Just rinse them under water--- maybe try organic ones? Or eat them with other things?

It's not just the pesticides, it's nasties like manure and bacteria ...more so in organics!...washing with soap and H2O is the first step.

You can try to use hot water to wash them thoroughly.
